Privacy Policy

The service is operated under the name PerfectCV. Contact: hello@perfectcv.app.

Registered company name, address, and identification number will be published here once they are confirmed. Until then, use the email above for privacy requests.

Depending on how you use the Service, we may process:

• Account data: email address, name, authentication identifiers (including Google or GitHub if you choose social sign-in).
• Profile and CV content you enter or import: work history, education, skills, languages, projects, phone, location, links, photo URL, and similar job-application material.
• Job ads you paste or upload so we can tailor a CV.
• Builder drafts stored in your browser (local storage) until you sign in and save a profile, or until you clear the browser.
• Affiliate data if you join the creator program: referral code, referral counts, and commission records.
• Technical logs needed to run and secure the Service (for example IP-related request metadata held by our host).

We do not ask for special-category data (health, religion, union membership). Please do not put that information in a CV you upload.

• Create and operate your account, and keep you signed in.
• Build, preview, tailor, import, and export CVs and letters.
• Send your content to an AI provider when you use AI features.
• Process payments when billing is connected (we do not store card numbers).
• Run the affiliate program if you opt in.
• Secure the Service, prevent abuse, and comply with law.

Legal bases (EU/UK GDPR, where it applies) typically include: contract (providing the Service you asked for), legitimate interests (security, product operation), consent (optional cookies / marketing attribution and some AI uses where required), and legal obligation.

When you use AI import, extraction, tailoring, or generation, relevant CV text, job-ad text, and related prompts are sent to our AI vendor DeepSeek (via their API). That processing happens on their infrastructure, which may be outside your country (including outside the EEA). We do not use the AI output as a substitute for your own review. You should not submit secrets or other people’s data without permission.

We do not sell your CV content. We do not use your CV to train our own models. Whether the AI vendor uses API inputs for their own training is governed by their terms; we will update this policy if that changes or if we switch providers.

We use service providers to operate PerfectCV:

• Hosting and delivery: Vercel
• Authentication and database: Supabase (Postgres, Auth)
• AI processing: DeepSeek
• Payments (when live): LemonSqueezy as merchant of record — they process cards; we do not store full card details

These providers may process data in the United States, the EU, or other countries. Where GDPR applies, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as the provider’s standard contractual clauses) as offered by those vendors.

We use a small set of cookies described in the Cookie Policy. Essential cookies (language, sign-in, your cookie choice) are used to run the site. The affiliate referral cookie is set only if you accept optional cookies.

Account and profile data are kept while your account is open. You can delete your account from the Profile page. Builder drafts in the browser remain until you clear site data. Server logs are kept only as long as needed for security and operations. After account deletion we remove profile rows we control; residual backups expire on our host’s backup cycle.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your data, to object or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You can:

• Download a copy of your saved profile from the Profile page
• Delete your account from the Profile page
• Email hello@perfectcv.app for other requests

You may also complain to your local data-protection authority. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

The Service is for people aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Material changes will be posted on this page.
